Full disclosure

How this site works

Plain answers about who runs this site, who answers the phone, and where the money comes from. If anything here is unclear, ask us.

What this site is

Chimney Repair Boise is an independently operated referral and lead-generation website. We are a publisher, not a chimney contractor. We don’t employ crews, carry trade insurance, pull permits, or perform chimney work, and nothing on this site should be read as us claiming to.

Who answers when you call

The phone number on this site, (208) 555-0144, forwards to independent local chimney companies serving Boise and the surrounding Treasure Valley. Which company answers depends on when you call: calls rotate among them, and each call rings through to a single company, not to a list of lead buyers. The contact form works the same way: your details are passed to one local company so they can call you back, which is why you won’t get a barrage of calls after using this site.

How we make money

Companies receiving these calls and leads may pay us a referral or advertising fee. If one local company starts paying to receive all of this site’s inquiries, this page will say so. Any such fee is paid by the business, not by you, and it does not change the price you’re quoted. Still, you should know the arrangement exists when you weigh what you read here.

Verify any contractor yourself

Don’t take a website’s word for any of this, ours included. Two checks take about two minutes:

  • State registration. Idaho law requires anyone contracting work of $2,000 or more to be registered with the state. Search any company free in the Idaho DOPL Contractors Board registration search. Note that Idaho registration is a registration, not a competency-tested license: it confirms insurance and identity, not skill.
  • Trade credentials. For sweep and inspection work, the exam-based CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep credential can be checked in CSIA’s public directory. For hearth-appliance installation, Idaho’s HVAC licensing applies; the HVAC contractor certificate behind that scope is exam-based and also verifiable through DOPL.

Our content rules

Every local and factual claim on this site traces to a source we actually fetched and read: city permit pages, Idaho statute, NFPA and CSIA documents, Census data, dated national cost guides. Content pages list their sources at the bottom. Where we couldn’t verify something, it isn’t on the site. We don’t publish fabricated reviews or testimonials, we don’t invent "Boise prices," and we don’t use stock photos of someone else’s crew.

What this site is not

  • Not a chimney company, and not "licensed & insured." Any company you hire carries its own registration and insurance; check both before you sign.
  • Not an emergency service. If you have an active fire, leave and call 911.
  • Not professional advice about your specific chimney. The articles here are general guidance; an on-site inspection is the real thing.
